The residents of Abule-Ado in Amuwo Odofin Area of Lagos are still counting eir losses in the fire incident that happened in the early hours of today.

Among those who died in the incident is this young couple. The news of their demise was posted on Twitter by @victornkemjika.
While the name of the woman is Chisom, her husband's name was not mentioned in the post.

Mourning the loss of the young couple, @victonkenjika who seem to be closer to the woman than the husband tweeted:
"The number of people who died in the Explosion this morning will look like statistics until you have a friend or family member in the number , I'm so pained tonight. Nigeria would test your strength , RIP Chisom and RIP to your husband too 😭😭😭😭😭😭 "

The couple is just a few out of the scores of Lagosians who lost their lives in this ugly incident.
The fire was reportedly put out today by 11:30pm according to the NNPC General Managing Director, Mele Kyari.
Please drop a word or two for the deceased and their families. They need all the comfort they can get. 

How Genevieve Nnaji was dumped at  altar on her wedding to Nigerian big boy, Ugo Udezue

The identity of the man who dumped Genevieve Nnaji at the altar of her wedding day in Italy has been revealed to be Ugo Udezue, a Nigerian man who is a top shot NBA agent.

The gist was disclosed by an IG blogger who stated that Udezue disappointed Genevieve Nnaji because his father didn’t like the actress and considered her to be selfish.
Gistmerchant wrote: “A lot of people heard when Genevieve was rumoured to be getting married but not a lot of people know that she was ghosted at the altar. Here is the gist.

“Genevieve was dating a Nigerian sports agent turned businessman named Ugo Udezue. Ugo used to be an agent for several NBA players until he went back to Naija to form the African Basketball League in the spring of 2017 and did pretty well for himself.
“Initially he was only ‘hooking’ up with Gene when he visited Nigeria cos he was seriously dating about two other people including a real housewives of Atlanta star. When things didn’t work out well with either of them, he got “back together” with Gene and they got engaged.
“The problem is he is from a big enough family and his dad didn’t quite like Gene because he found her to be “selfish” and told Ugo that “this is not a woman who would put you before herself.” Ugo knew he wouldn’t marry Gene without his father’s blessing but he never shared his reluctancy with her and instead continued ‘fake’ planning a quiet wedding with her.
“Gene flew to Italy for their quiet wedding with tight circle friends and fam only to be embarrassed to find out Ugo was still in Lagos chilling. He devastated her. Wonder if she has recovered from that. As for Ugo, he is still using his dad as excuse not to marry till date”.

There are people who were known to be the shakers of nollywood film industry. There people did their best in making sure that movies that we watched were of great quality, not only quality, it was also very interesting. 

One of these shakers of Nigerian film Industry is a woman that used to be a cry baby of nollywood, Actress Nkiru Sylvanus. She was known as a Cry baby in those days of her reign because she cried a lot in her movies. She was too emotional that she cried at any little thing. She was also known by the name Ble Ble because of a film she featured in.Some of the films that starred actress Nkiru Sylvanus are, she is my sister, fine things, Treasure of fortune, Alice my first lady, sweetest goodbye, king of the jungle, A cry for help, unknown mission, last weekend, unconditional love and there are lots more.

child identified simply as Favour has been rescued alive from the rubbles of one of the collapsed building at the Abule ado explosion.

The three-year-old baby girl was rescued from the rubbles on Sunday night by operatives of the Red cross Nigeria at the scene.
According to chairman Red Cross Nigeria Adebowale Kolawole, “we recovered her naked under the debris of a building.
“Later we found out that the mother had her sibling were admitted in the hospital and the mother who had a head injure was in a semi unconsciousness.
“This morning when she asked for her daughter, the doctors told her that her daughter is safe and with the red cross. Actually that was what we wanted to so that the mother would be at rest psychologically so that it will not add to the pains that the mother is going through in other to save her life, and as soon as possible we are taking her to go see her mother at the Naval hospital. She is favour and God has favoured her”
Meanwhile, two yet to be identified corpses have been recovered by the rescue officials at the scene of explosion.
The corpses were found under the rubbles of the collapsed school building at about 11 am on Monday morning.

Mother locks up daughter in a toilet for years after Prophet told her she’s possessed

A 13-year-old girl identified as Mercy Effiong has been tortured and tormented by her own mother, Mrs. Effiong, over allegations from a yet-to-be identified prophet who claimed she was possessed by demons.
Ms. Mercy who was rescued on Sunday by Child’s Right And Rehabilitation Network (CRARN), was locked up in the toilet by her mother for several years which sucked out the fat out of her and left her with skeletal bones.

PARADISE NEWS learnt in a Facebook post made by CRARN that Mercy was eating up her faeces in other to survive. See excerpt of the post below:
“This is Mercy Effiong, a 13 years old girl who was locked up in a toilet and a dark, isolated room for years before she was rescued to the CRARN Children Centre, Eket, Nigeria.

“The mother tortured and neglected her as a result of a spurious claim by her church prophet that she was possessed by demon. She was deprived of foods and hardly given the needed nutrition to survive. She ended up eating her own faeces at some points to survive.
“Consequent upon this, Mercy suffered from malnutrition and became badly emaciated and almost died before her rescue.
“The cruel manner which children like this are treated is unheard of, unimaginable and pathetic.
“Mercy is from Oron, Akwa Ibom State, the epicenter of children stigmatization. She’s one of the few lucky children who have survived such horrific treatment”.

The history of Biafra cannot be talked about without the mention of General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

History has it that Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu was a military personnel. He was also involved in active politics up till the time of his death. In 1966, General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu governed the Eastern Region of Nigeria.

He was born in the year 1933 and died in the year 2011.

His death came as a shock to many. A lot of people wept reasons being that a hero has departed.
